Profile:

My 'Martial Arts' journey started in 1984 studying various Arts, in particular Aikido.

I starting practicing T'ai Chi in 2006 alongside Aikido. The mental and physical benefits were almost immediate.n 2022 I decided to concentrate on T'ai Chi and it soon became a life style developing my mind and body. I graded and achieved teacher status. However, I felt something was missing.

I researched other organisations and spoke with Instructors of Howard Gibbon and the East West Taoist Association, (EWTA).

In February 2026 I attended one of Howard's monthly workshops and I immediately knew I had found what I was looking for, Howard is an accomplished Master Teacher and is authentic to the original teachings of the Lee Family and Chee Soo.

It is clear that I am now at the University of T'ai Chi learning new skills and understanding which are enabling me to see further into this wonderful Art.

Since joining the EWTA, I have been made to feel very welcome, by Howard, instructors and fellow students alike, without exception. Our classes are supportive and provide a welcoming atmosphere no matter, age or ability. Christopher Ayres
