I first experienced T’ai Chi one beautiful sunny day in Manchester with Jason Chan – it was very moving and inspiring. That sowed the seed and in 1998 I joined a local adult education class with Mark Popplewell teaching the Lee style of T’ai Chi. Mark was followed by Alan Keeling and Tony Whittaker – I am grateful to all of them for their knowledge, skill and help.
In 2004 I started training with Master Howard Gibbon in Scarborough, completing the teacher training course in 2006. I continue to train with Howard at his monthly advanced classes now held at: The Village Hall, Holme On Spalding Moor, East Yorkshire and am now 4th Tengchi in T’ai Chi.
I find T’ai Chi wonderfully relaxing and revitalising, and try to communicate this and the many other benefits of T’ai Chi to students both young and old (from age 9 to 92 so far!). I hope to continue gaining more depth in my practise and hence be able to pass this on to my students.
